Having looked at your tent as I not seen one before I cant see a problem doing it but I dont see any advantage

Was it just because there is a draught or were you getting wet too.

you could always try and buy a tarp that you tent will fit on comfortably on and then cut out the shape of the tent leaving enough spare so that you could tuck it up inside the flysheet and then you are not compromising the tent in any way and it will also keep your groundsheets clean inside the tent for packing away

It could be a design issue but you could maybe have some tabs sewn on to the bottom of the flysheet to peg it down more

I have to admit I dont like the groundsheets that are shaped to fit inside - they dont always fit I thought by having a bigger tarp cut to the overall size of you tent with a extra few insches to tuck up inside would make it a little better as thats what we used to do with our Gelert Family Dome - its just hard to explain and I dont have any photos to add on here so you could see what I am trying to say LOL

I had a similar problem with my Eurohike Buckingham and solved it by fitting B&Q 225mm damp proof membrane (comes on a roll so nice straight edges all the way around).  I've made sure that it stays in place by fitting brass eyelets in each section which I can peg down under the fitted groundsheet.

The biggest problem was fixing the membrane to the nylon as I really didn't fancy sewing but using a combination of Evostick waterproof PVA for most of it, seam sealer for spots as it sets quicker and tape to hold it in place until everyting set.

Total cost was about £20.
