Having looked at your tent as I not seen one before I cant see a problem doing it but I dont see any advantage
Was it just because there is a draught or were you getting wet too.
you could always try and buy a tarp that you tent will fit on comfortably on and then cut out the shape of the tent leaving enough spare so that you could tuck it up inside the flysheet and then you are not compromising the tent in any way and it will also keep your groundsheets clean inside the tent for packing away
