At yeomans The xxl is £329 with carpet and footprint thrown in...........the xl is £399 0n its own, is this the end of the monster tents?...looks like they are stuck with stock to sell them 70 quid cheaper than the smaller one.

We went to yeomans at the weekend and saw both tents but ended up buying a nebraska xl (tho we bought it at mitchells for £359).  We went for the xl because of the flexibility it gives us in bedrooms.  Depending who we take with us we can have 2, 3 or 4 bedrooms.  If we have the girls we would use one big bedroom and have the girls in one big bedroom, as they get older they will want their own room.  Also, They are quite generous 2 person rooms and so if we needed to we could actually fit a double mattress in each of the four rooms (I measured it).

If we had gone for the xxl then we don't have the same flexibility and so if we took my sister and boyfriend and their little boy that would be al the pods used, in the xl I could still have a room spare for 'stuff' if i wanted to (or a toilet).

I'm saying all this and to be truly honest with you I still prefer the xxl but Rob chose the xl for the above reasons and I have to say - he has a point!

and yet many others have run out of the xxl. It's a remarkable price at Yeomans, and I have to say, I was impressed with the speed.

The side pods on the XXL are smaller than the XL, doesn't make sense to me but we had bought the xxl thinkng they would be the same. The back pod on the XXL is the same size as the XL side pods.

When we had our XXL, we put 2 double airbeds in the back pod. I think it would be easier to pitch the XL and as stated above, you have more flexibility.

We now have the Vermont L and it only has 2 bedrooms and if we get my in-laws with us, we just put a double mattress in the corner of the living space and when not in use, we put it in the small bedroom so it was out of the way. This worked well for us as you don't really have privacy in a tent anyway. I would rather have more living space than sleeping. I think that's one thing to consider when choosing a tent. I don't think you really need a bedroom for each person. In the states, we don't have the pods like here. You just cozy up and sleep. It's the day that matters.

Another thing to consider is the size of the Nebraska, it is very wide and some places wanted to charge us a double pitch. You might want to look at the Vermont L or XL. The main points about this model is it is not as wide, both are less than 5 meters, they are just long. The porch is awesome on the Vermont range.

Best wishes!
