No I have not had that problem and ours has experienced some nasty weather. I assume you attached the velcro bits on the fly sheet to the poles (I have forgotten this before) and used all the pegging points and guy ropes ?

yes we did that but the velco aslo kept coming off. and all the guy ropes where done too. we even got some extra strong tent pegs too as we had wind of up too 35 mph we where camping last week in waxham near the sea. the tent had poles had rubbed in 5 places on the fly sheet. thank you any way
try gaffa tape to hold the bottom of the poles in place, we have the royal montpellier 12, almost identical to the hertford xxl, and we were also in waxham for the last two weeks and had the same gales...... 2nd week glorious SUN!!!!!!
