I have the same problem and posted about this a few weeks ago. We've decided to get a trailer to keep loaded up with everything but the tent & sleeping bags which we keep under the bed in the spare bedroom.

We have a series of plastic storage boxes which fit everything except the sleeping bags and the large tent. These are kept in the loft, the chairs and the sleeping bags which get used for non-camping are kept in the house and the garage.

Mines all in a shed, with a dehumidifier to stop it getting damp over winter.

Mines in the loft mostly in lidded storage boxes. I can tell you it is a real challange getting the hartford XXL and the 3 way fridge up there !
