Hello there. First time posting-as I'm a new member. Does anyone know where I can confirm the weight/packaged size of the vista 800(2002)? I am trying to arrange to have Parcel Force collect one I've bought from ebay and the seller hasn't yet responded to my request for these wee details.
I would have loved to see pictures and size details of the vista erected-if anyone can help point me in the right direction? Because of its age, Vango have no electronic records on file.
PS Which is the recommended waterproof spray for modern(ish) tents? My previous tents were all canvas and I didn't have to think of waterproofing, but your forums re. leaks in modern tents gives me food for thought. Thanks a lot if you can assist me. Cheers.

Hi and welcome to UKCS. The very first tent we looked at was the Vista, a very large impressive tent. It did look very large packed away. Here are some details of the Vista 800DLX, which should be roughly the same as the 2002 model -
Pack weight: 32.70kg Pack size: 72 x 48 x 30cm I have also found some more info HERE and HERE.
Sorry, perhaps should have mentioned, that DLX models only usually have an extended porch or similar upgrades, there is not too much difference in the 800 or the 800 DLX.
Thanks very much for that Clare.
We took our 5 year-old grandson to Sands of Luce Caravan/Camping site a few weeks ago-his first camping trip.We had an almost-new (smallish) "Eagle extreme" 3- roomed tent which we had just bought from ebay and were using for the first time. It rained continuously from 8pm the first night until 5pm the next day- which showed up a few wee leaks ! I've since re-proofed the whole tent with Fabsil-but have now decided to try a bigger tent.(again from ebay) I will pursue the seller for accurate weights etc. for Parcel Force. If anyone knows the location of a picture of an erected basic Vista 800 (2002)I would be grateful. ps My grandson and my wife both enjoyed the trip, despite the heavy rain ! regards.
