Oh no!!! I fell in love with this tent earlier this year but funds were limited so we went for our next best - the Oregon 800.  Now Somerset camping are selling the 2006 Aspen 500 for £175 (on ebay) Can I justify spending more money on another tent!!

Convince me I don't need it.  We only camp for a maximum of 4 days at a time so the Oregon is ideal. But.....if we had the Aspen maybe we'd stay away longer.

No, must be sensible - it would have to go on credit card. There, my mind is made up.....or is it.....

How does the aspen compare with a frame tent for cosiness.  We got a bot chilly last week in our Oregon and bedded down quite early to get warm, whereas in our old frame tent we were quite warm,

We have the 500 dlx, we used it last week and had our usual noisey at the other tents on site, and had to agree its probably the best tent around, maybe not the easiest to put up, but gets easier every time, but when its up wow, wardrobe pole for hanging loads of room and can stand up all the way through and I am 6ft 4, we absolutly love this tent.

I think the oregon is single skin ??? The aspen is double skin and should be a lot warmer, also it's fully enclosed. Someone else may be along with some more helpful advice.

Help, some advice need for a new tent. I was looking for a new tent and was going to opt for the Diablo 600 however now I have seen this considering changing my mind.  Mainly looking to use it at weekends.  Is this a better tent than the Diablo?

Personally I prefer the Aspen because of the height throughout. The Diablo bedroom pods slope, so you have far more usable space with the Aspen, also the frame design makes it a lot sturdier. But, the Diablo is lighter and smaller when packed away.

the diablo takes up more room on a pitch than the aspen due to the shape - be wary of this as a lot of campsites are restricting pitch sizes which can make finding somewhere suitable for the diablo a challenge...the aspen is a very roomy tent yet because it is squarer than the diablo which has pods sticking out the sides you don't have the same problem with the width when booking pitches.

The Aspen versus the Diabolical ???

Your avin a larf!

The Aspen IS the Diabolical with all the mistakes put right : full height bedroom so no floppy sides ,instead of  bedrooms sprawling everywhere they shoved around to the back to fit on most pitches , lost and lots of windows and vents so it doesnt feel as closed in as the diabolical ,its also a little more tastefully coloured!

Looking at your gallery clare I see a picture of the tent in the snow. Did you camp in that weather?  How was it?
