I just camped with my new vango vail 500.It leaked in about 7 different places. called dealer I bought it from, he said you should expect leaks on seams where an extra piece has been sewn on after tent being taped, and I should use seam sealer. After conversation I realised 2 leaks were just regular taped seams. I was camping at the time so will be contacting them again, If no luck I'm contact vango. I'm new to this as well and also wondered if this is normal, but other campers have told me to take it back.

We bought a Vango Brekenridge 600 and took it to Devon last month. It leaked in many places. My dealer said it was un-acceptable and offered me an exchange or refund without question.

Seems you no longer get the quality we were all used to with Vango...must be a sign of the times....!!

We are considering an Idaho 600. Are leaks a common problem?

How long to pitch this tent?

I replaced the original Idaho 600 with an exchange from the supplier.  The first one was blue, this one is grey and black.

Put it up this weekend, takes approximately 20-25mins.

It has had a rain test over the weekend, and I am pleased to report that there was no evidence of leaks.  The first must have been faulty.

I am very pleased with this tent in general, like the size and is easy to put up.  It will be great for weekend use.

We had a Breckenridge 400 which leaked in 6 places - got the canvas replaced by return of post.  (OutdoorWorld - excellent customer service!).

Sadly the replacement canvas had holes in the roof and walls and the hanger tab for one of the bedrooms was hanging off.  Have returned the whole lot for a refund and never want to see another Vango family tent again. (Have a Vango mountiain tent and that's pretty bomb-proof!).
