hi all new to this site but thought my views may offer another angle:

i bought a vango aspen 700 brand new a couple of years ago, the first time i used it in cornwall on a two week holiday it rained for three days and on day three a wet patch appeared in the living area and got larger and larger. i sent the tent back and got as full refund.

this said however it would not stop me buying a vango tent again and any reputable retailer would offer money back onany tent purchased new BUT IF THERES A LEAK PROBLEM TAKE PHOTO!S

because i have never owned a rage tent i could not offer any advice other than most of their tents seem to be copies of the more well known brands (ie rage narvic500dlx = vango aspen 500 etc) and i do believe that you get what you pay for and think that by replicating other brands tents rage may be accepting that they are a heaper alternative to that brand.

if i were a tent manufacturer and wanted to offer tents of the same quality as the named brands i would not copy their designs ..rather offer my own

anyone ever bought that perfume that is named and smells similar o the real stuff?? its always crap isnt it!!!

but that is just my opinion and not a statement.

Don't forget to leave a review of all tents you've used, for a chance to win fantastic prizes

New! Please upload a photo of your tent to the Tent Showcase!

How can this be a review thread when you offering an opnion based on nothing but your assumptions.  Can i also say that do you get all your clothes from Lagerfeld, Paco Rabanne, Dior or Jean Paul Gaultier?  These people who fashion their clothes for the runway but from whom all the highstreet shops get there clothes from.  So how can you comment and say a tent company is no good based on your opnion that because they copy they must be rubbish, they are not claiming to be a Vango or Gelert tent they are Rage and Leben who get inspiration from other tent manufacturers. Much as Top Shop and Selfridges is to Dior and Jean Paul Gaultier.  So i believe you analogy is not very well founded.

Of course, if you were to spend money on a designer to design your own, completely new range, you would have to pass that cost onto your customers....
