Hi Guys
I am about to purchase this tent for weekends but need a bit of clarification.Does it have a SIG throughout,or just under the bedroom pod? The riser groundsheet is that loose or how does it work? Would appreciate any owners response to my query.Maybe it doesn't have a SIG at all would that be the case?Normally I would see the tent first but the recommendations on this site have very much persuaded me that this is a good tent.Sell it to me please.

oops! sorry Webby, think I might have posted in the wrong section.

Thanks for your fast reply stewey.I will take a look at the sun canopy you refer too, could be an option. As I understand it then, the groundsheet is different at the front?

It doesn't have a SIG - we borrowed a Venture 500 from a friend and found the living area pretty camped. Not being able to stand up drove me nuts, although we loved the camping enough to go out and buy our current Coleman Galileo L.

I'd say the newer Idaho is a better design - it's almost the same tent but with the living area in the taller section and the bedrooms in the lower.

The design of the VV500 has varied over the last couple of years, in 2005 it didn't have a SIG but the last couple of models have had what I would call a bathtub SIG!

I agree with the front door not sitting right. I too have no ground sheet and a large vango sun canopy. Love the tent wish it was a few inches higher at front but very easy for myself and 10yr old son to put up.

Thanks for that piglet.I thought that there was a difference in some of the models. If anyone is interested,I saw a vv500 in Millets Kingston today and that had been reduced to £59.99 I am assuming from piglets post that it must be one of the older models cos it doesn't mention having a riser groundsheet and did appear to be heavier than later models. It does get confusing when there are tents with the same name but not the same spec especially as Millets apparently have a Ventura which is the same spec as the newer Vango Venture. The Ventura was priced at £89.99.
Think I will go with the bathtub and riser option. Thanks to all who took the trouble to reply,I appreciate that.
