I was thinking of buying a Khyam Ontario 8 as a weekend tent, but some of the comments i've read on here are making me have second thoughts. If anybody has any information on this tent good or bad could they post an honest reply. Also can anybody recommend a similar tent for around the same price. Must have SIG and must be 'Tunnel' design.

sorry can't help with your request i just wanted to get rid of the sad face in your thread ...lol
i'm sure someone who knows about those tents will be along shortly :)
We have the Khyam Ontario 8 and can throughly recommended this tent. We are a faimly of 4 and believe me we take a lot of stuff when we go camping. This tent just swallows up all our stuff. At first we left the double bedroom out and used the two single bedrooms, this left a gigantic space, then changed over and used the double and one single . This still left plenty of space to store all our stuff and enabled a picnic table to be set up inside.
We had a slight problem at first with a few broken poles, this was due to being the first tent on the campsite and caught all the wind from the sea. It was severe strong wind and rain but once we moved the tent around it stood up without any further problems.
We now got the pitching down to 40 minutes and its so easy compared to our old dome tent.
Take the plunge and go and buy one, we got ours from Outdoor World and it came with a free footprint ground sheet.

Aspinalls have mixed reviews on here, so buyer beware.
I'm not sure if I want to give out the info on £165 shop, just in case they only have one left. The cryptic clue is '' They don't sell aeroplanes'' . Good luck if you can work it out. The answer will be given once mine is on order.
As I said have not bought from Aspinalls so would not recommend, may be worth a look for people who can visit and inspect the seconds prior to purchase. Or may be someone on here has had a decent experience with them. I would be interested if they have as have been looking at a couple of the Khyam seconds, but am a bit unsure.
don't quote me on this as i've never shooped there but am fairly sure i read on here that the seconds at Apisnalls are sold as seen.... in otherwords no comeback if the tent is faulty!!!

I've just ordered the above tent for £143 plus £6.99 p+p from Hi-Peak. Don't know if there is a lot of stock left, but that price is the best I have found by a long way.
What a bargain! I ordered an Ontario 6 last week - not as cheaply as your 8 though. But I did ask for a reduction and got it for £150 free deliv. Just need to get it up now and see what it is like. Might have to have a night in the garden to test drive it!
