I have recently taken my first camping trip and loved it so much I now want to upgrade from my 4 berth tent/ 2 night stay to an 8 berth/ 1 week stay.
After much searching my eyes landed on the Khyam Indiana 8. I was all set to start the price search for this tent when I noticed a listing recommending the Ontario 8.
Can anyone tell me what the main difference is between the two and also what is SIG I've seen it mentioned a couple of times but don't know what it is - I'm hoping its not something too obvious that I should have picked up on myself.
Cheers, Glenogue

welcome to the site. s.i.g = swen in ground sheet we have the ontario 8 and love it, it's easy to put loads of room for all of us (2 adults and 4kids). the 2 tent are the same apart from the ground sheets. if you have any more questions about the tent ask away!!! we all started at some point!
Thanks for the reply. I had just worked out the SIG question after reading more postings but the info on the ontario is really useful. I had all but decided on the indiana but will need to give more thought to the ontario now.
I had found the Kansas 8 on the outdoor megastore site - good to know that it is the same as the Ontario 8. Most sites seem to be selling it for £199 so to have the roller bag thrown in is the best offer so far.
I read a posting where an Ontario 8 owner mentioned putting a ground sheet down first even though the Ontario has a SIG - is this just to keep the SIG clean?
yep putting down a ground sheet down first keeps the sig clean it;s easer to clean a ground sheet on it's own than clean a hole tent! it all so helps the tent a bit warmer as it's anther layer between you and the grass. if you do use one khyam make one for the ontario put if you make one yourself (cheaper) make sure the bottom groundsheet (often called a footprint groundsheet) doesn't stick out from under the side of your tent because water can get in between the two.
