Personally, I have no experience with the tent. My opinion on it is that it is a very large tent, looks like good space. However, you want to keep check on the size, it's over 7m wide which could lead to some problems later on. We had a very large tent and found some campsites wanted to charge us double or won't accept them at all. There are plenty of members on this forum who own them and say they have no problems but they only visit certain types of campsites where they know they won't have a problem. Many have said that because this past season was so bad that most camps were taking anything. I'm quite curious to see what it will be like next year.
It's up to each individual which tent is right for them but you may have to be prepared to miss out on certain sites to have a large tent.
With that said, my point is just to make sure you know the cons of owning large tents in order to make a better decision for you.
HI wrg 11 , welcome to UK camping My sentiments too Mama bear .Depends entirely on the site. With a big tent you can't go on the site of your choice. You always have to book ahead and tell them the size of your footprint. Even though your tent may be smaller than a caravan with an awning lots of sites favour caravans to tents, and to put you off, will try to charge you for 2 pitches. If you accept they have just made a kill So take heed. C&CC sites have a standard area square footage that you can't exceed without paying extra, sorry can't remember the size ,some commercial sites go by the shape of your tent. Tunnel tents are the better shape as they take up a rectangle, but some tents may have a smaller area but have bedrooms sticking out all over the place. Read some of the comments from other campers on here before you make your choice. Happy camping

I bought my Hartford XL last year, first year of camping and also the worst weather ever for all of our camping trips including the periods of national flooding... my xl did not let in a drop of water.. survived terrential rain, force gale winds and the family survived too...
