We are planning on changing our main family holiday tent early next year.

Been looking around at 8 berth tents, theres 4 of us but the kids often bring thier mates and we do like the extra space. We also need at least one of the bedroom pods to be 4 berth for the queen size airbed

Last month we saw a Royal Bordeaux 6 which looked just right, apart from only 6 berth.

After searching on google I have seen the Vango Amazon 8 berth from their new 2008 range. Looks like it could be just right for us.

Has anybody actually seen this tent in the flesh and able to give an oppinion on it ??

Thanks

I imagine the only people that would have seen them 'in the flesh' so far are the retailers at the trade fairs.  Hopefully one of them may see your posting and provide an insight for you.

try the vango vancover 800, our queen size bed fits in and still have plenty of space in the pod, plenty of room for the kids at the other side

Have you tried the Khyam Classic range ?
We have a 8 man one. Ultimate classic I think it's called.
Plenty of space over abd above the pods. Pods are 4 man each, and I can easily fit 2 comfort double-mattresses in one.

We've just bought the amazon 800 from outdoor action (sample tent). We really wanted an Outwell vermont xl but am a bit reluctant to spend so much on a tent, (we had our montana 12 stolen last year so feeling a bit nervous). Because of this, we then opted for a sample tent and wanted the Nile 800, particularly liked the option to zip on/off the side pods. But they had run out of those so, next best thing was this.

We haven't put it up yet so not quite sure what to expect, hoping for a nice weekend some time soon. If you'd like me to take pics and send them you, just let me know.

Will report back once we've had a look at it ourselves!
