Hi everyone,

Just like a general opinion on our tent....would you consider it a marquee??

Have been sending off enquires to various sites, as it isn'ta tiny tent I do include the dimensions. Which are 7.4 x 3.5m so as i said not tiny!!

Received a reply today and it had the following remarks...

thanks for your email - thats a big tent!    We can at the moment book this for you as we only have a few large grass pitches to allocate that size of marquee.

Never had that sort of comment before, even on the one site that wanted to charge us double!!!

So while i realise compared to some tents it is big,but does it warrant those remarks?

we had one (long story) and it fitted on an standard pitch no probs because it fell within the 7mx5m restriction (am sure ours was only 7m long) took it down through France last year and didn't have any problems.

Hi Shelli,

It is a big tent, but certainly not a marquee. Do you think the comment may have been an attempt at a joke that has got lost along the way. The reply isn't very good grammatically ... I can't understand if they are going to accommodate you or not ?

Pauline

hi all thanks for replies,

Yes i know compared to some it's large and we've also been warned at some sites we'll be charged double. Tho luckly only one site has ever tried and we simply didn't go.

And yes they was prepared to accommodate us, I only put part of the email in my orginal post.

Taznmaple,

It's defo 7.4 m,tho all websites currently seem to say the newer models are 7.5m!!

Atherwitzend,

yes think it was an attempt at a joke, but it made me wonder!!!

We have an Indiana 8 2006 (7.4M long).

This is my guess at the reply you received.

thanks for your email - thats a big tent!    We can't at the moment book this for you as we only have a few large grass pitches to allocate for that size of marquee; and they are *currently unavailable for booking/not ready/have been reserved by other campers.

I'd probably phone and check.
