I am buying an Outwell Hartford 2008 this week but not having bought a tent online before I want to go with a company you think has good customer service etc.
If theres a problem I'd like to be able to return it etc easily.

World of camping are good. Seem to be very well priced too. Also got my Montana from them.

Can't comment on any of the companies you mention as never bought from them. That's not to say I wouldn't!

We have bought 2 tents from www.outdooraction.co.uk without any problems. Never had to return anything so don't know how they deal. However their shop is only 35 miles from us and we have been in a couple of times and bought smaller items. Always found the staff to be knowledgeable, helpful and not at all pushy so I would hope their 'back-office' is run in a similar way. They have the Hartford XL 2007 model on clearance at £199 at the moment.

I personally would not buy something like a tent online unless I could find contact details, including a telephone number and the company probably also had a retail premises.

We ordered our tent and extras from outdoorworld last year, best prices at the time for our lokon vario, with windbreak etc on offer, plus some other bits, very quick delivery. Only problem we had at the time and still don't know whether it was us or them, but we couldn't order online - ended up phoning the order through.

i bought my outwell nebraska xxl from www.yeomansoutdoors.co.uk for a very good price... which i am greatly looking forward to using this year....they currently have a outwell hartford xl with free footprint groundsheet and carpet for £239.95.. ime assuming its the 2007 model but its a bit of a bargain....

Hi,

Bought our Outwell Georgia L from World of Tents after weeks of researching which tent best suited our needs (see my seperate thread prior to Xmas 'tent purchase'). World of Tents were great and not only beat the other quotes, but included a carpet and base groundsheet as well, and free 24 hours deivery - all for under £300

Worth a phonecall and haggle !!
