We are a family of five and are planning to tour Europe in the summer. We have a large family tent and all the equipment, but when we stop overnight whilst travelling we want a small tent (or two) to put up quickly, purely for sleeping in.
We have considered buying 2 of the gelert pop up festival tents, so we can put them up, go to the restaurant, sleep in them and move on early the next morning.
Any advice would be welcome as this is the first time we have taken a tent abroad.
Don't forget to leave a review of all tents you've used, for a chance to win fantastic prizes
buy a quechua pop up instead if you can get hold of one, i have 2 they are superb, and comein different sizes to suit your needs, search for them on here, if you have any questions email me a "c4rge at aol dot com"
I would also say go for the Quechua pop ups, if you can. The Gelert are single skin, so not ideal as you will get more condensation and be hotter, or colder, depending on weather conditions.
I'd suggest the Quechua 3 second, the 3 second air or the 3 second light, depending on how much room you have to transport them (the 3 second light has the smaller pack size), The air model will give you better ventilation, for if the temperatures soar!
Some people find it tricky to get the "knack" of collapsing a Quechua pop up, one of the funnier things you occasionally see on a campsite. 3 seconds to put up, half an hour, two arguments and uncounted expletives to pack away.
Hi Ali (snowy747) i have the Monty 6 & i am thinking of getting Outwell Jersey m pop up. I am a family of 6 can you tale me if you can fit 3 in it & do you find that they work ok for overnights stays

It's just technique, and easy when you know how. It's worth practicing at home first!
