There were a few posts on here about the quality of the Breckenridge last year. Vango still have it on their site although I suspect it has not been updated for 2008 products. Having done a search I cannot see any retailers stocking this tent so have Vango withdrawn it from the range and what is its replacement?

Bit of a shame really because I liked the bedroom configuration of the Breckenridge, they were 3 real double pods ideal for a family of 5 like us. I will have to keep an eye on the new Vangos instead.

Seems a shame that they have dropped the Astrals. I have 3 of them along with 2 Nitestars which are both excellent bags.

Hi just registered onto UKcampsite, so maybe a little late posting this reply. I am not very knowledgable about tents but I believe Somerset Camping have the breckenridge for sale which looks to be a good price!  Hope this helps.  Storky

Hi Carole thanks for the welcome.

We are in the midst of trying to buy a new tent. 2A+2(young)K.  Had a good look at the Breckenridge today.  I don't think it was pitched very well, but had concerns that the side doors do to not seal/zip all the way around to the bottom. Would this let the wind/rain in should we have a blustery camping trip!  Also, the air vents at the back do not shut down, of course to stop the tent from sweating, but again would the wind come through!  We are also interested in the vail, but have not seen one up.  Had a quick look around the Aspen, looks very cosy especially as it has a double skin.  Dilemmas Dilemmas.  Any feedback on these tents or suggestions of others would be great?

This is the same concern that I raised in another thread only I was more worried about midges getting in.

One would have thought that Vango would have considered these things, but I'm not quite reassured.

Our Breckenridge 400 was fine round the doors on the end, no problem with the 24hr deluge we had on our first day camping with it.  No problems with insects either.

But it did leak in 6 other places......

The replacement had holes in it.....

Repaced it with a Robens EveningstarXL (cost more but better designed & 10kg lighter for same footprint).

Thanks for that, The Wombat, the first feedback I've had on this type of door.  However, everything else you've mentioned is putting me off a Vango!
