Hi All

I am looking to get an old tent, that nobody wants (prefer 3/4 man tent) for our local charity.

It doesn't matter if it's got rips or no pegs as we can fix that up, but it does need poles! During the summer time we want to get the children to play outside a lot more and teach them about the environment by putting a light inside the tent when it's dark and capturing the night life - We will also be encouraging them to seek alternatives to flying abroard and staying local while having a good time (But without them knowing that though)

I am prepared to pay for postage, but if you can help that would be great

Cheers

Nick

If someone local can help you out then that's great, but if not, you'll probably find it cheaper to buy a cheap tent (Argos, Tescos, Woolworths) than to pay postage on one. Hope you find something.

Have a look on preloved.com you will probably be able to find wht you want there. Its the post and packaging that will balance out in the end . Have a nosey on e bay and you will see what p&p is on the tents .Anywhere that advertises like Tesco ect are another source. There was a frame tent for sale by me last year for £60 and that would have cost about £25 to £30 p&p depending on service .Let us know how you get on

Hi,

We have a 30 year old orange frame tent.  It was passed onto us but we haven't erected it yet.  The canvas looks in very good condition and so do the poles.  Its a 6 berth -  one large bedroom with dividers.  I don't think we'll ever use it (orange is not my colour!!) so if you think it will do then we can arrange a meeting point.  We're in Southampton,

Homebird

Sort of restores your faith in human nature doesn't it.
One request, from a good cause, and three replies with offers of free help.
Thanks all,
Jim.
