I am new to camping and am hoping to enter a world of cheap happy holidays with my family! Fingers crossed . I have recently bought an Easy Camp Parma 600, bought purely for the price (£50) and size as it sleeps six. I was wondering if anyone could let me know if this is a good tent? More specifically I wonder whether it will stand up to the British summer if we end up with another horrendously wet one like last year.
Also is there a suggested kit list anywhere on this site? Had a look round but couldn't find one and could really do with one! Can anyone recommend good camping books for beginners? I would really like to have electricity in the tent, mainly for a fridge and a heater in case it gets cold (scared of gas heaters!). I've read the thread all about electricity supplies, does anyone use electricity in their tent? Is it definately safe to have a supply in a tent if I buy one of the special units?
Finally, does anyone have any advice about camping with under threes? My youngest daughter is not yet one. I am tempted by pop-up travel cots like the Bushbaby or Samsonite Bubble.
Any comments, ideas or replies would be greatly appreciated,
Karen

Hi and welcome to ukcampsite.cant help you with the tent but if you go to features/ tips and scroll down just before you get to the tent reviews there is a check list that you can print of.
hi, welcome, under the CAMPING UNDER CANVAS section type `list` into the search it will throw up loads of lists. we use electric providing you use a proper unit you should have no problems. some sites use 16amp some 10amp some less, it is possible to overload a 10amp if you run too many things, you will learn, dont know about your tent, but I suspect you wont know until you pitch it incase it has damage or wear etc,

Hi Karen i have 4 boys 14, 12, 8, 15months we took my youngest camping at 4 months & he loved it we put him in with us so he can keep warm at night. we tried a pop-up travel cots but it just got in the way. if you take a Mobile Mains camping Supply you will be ok. I hope you have lots of fun ones you get the camping bug you want go back.
Hi, you were asking about your tent, did you get instructions with it,if so look for the HH rating, if its 2000 or above, it should be ok, below that you may have problems in heavy rain.
Bob.
