Hi everyone,

Im about to upgrade the 4 man tent that my kids and I'v been using for four seasons. My partner and his three kids  join us sometimes, last year with a seperate 4 man tent, which wasn't ideal. So, I need a sometimes minimum 3+stuff space, sometimes minimum 7+ even more stuff space, which I can pitch on my own/with small people to hold and pass.

Has anyone any thoughts on the Evolva, and/or sugestions for alternatives. The packages Iv found include a chef anex..as Id need two extra sleep anexes has anyone come across this as an option?

Thanks in advance

Welcome to UKCS Asnali! Now you've started posting you'll never be able to leave!

The problem is, that to accommodate 7+ people and all the kit needs a really big tent, probably at least a 12 berth. I would suggest using two tents, a 4/6 berth for just you and the kids and the 12 berth for the whole family. Tunnel tents are easiest to put up.

I'm sure someone with more experience of big tents will be along soon though and give you a lot more information.

Enjoy the new season!

We have a Norfolk lake and we can easily fit 4 adults and 2 kids with room to spare.  My inlaws sometimes come and they started off sleeping in the third optional bedroom and then decided since it was a sig just to sleep in the main living area.  Since they are fair weather campers we tend to spend most of our time outside and if the rain comes we have the enclosed porche which holds us all.

Have a look at the layout of this tent and it may give you an idea about the kind of space you would need.

If you want to pitch it single handed you are going to struggle with most large tents, the only big one I would be able to pitch alone would be Khyam quick erect, the Excelsior XXl  ( or Longleat this year) is an 8 berth. We ahve the Outwell Indi 8 as well but you would need two adults to pitch it as it is heavy.

thanks ... I know Im able to pitch the Vango 800 on my own with the ...huh hemmm....assistance...... ....of 8 very hyperactive cubs holding onto corners till something else takes their interest. Admitedly it is a lot easier with another adult around, normaly to controll the cubs when they get out of hand!!!!

Iv a feeling Teloz may be right... two tents.. hmm... and there I was hoping to reduce the personal camping equipment space in the shed...

Thanks all for your welcome, and advice..

A
