Hi guys, went to shell island at the weekend, used my new orchy 600 at the weekend in laurel, complete with carpet and footprint, very snug, withstood very windy and 12hrs heavy rain no probs, i tried e-mailing vango a couple of weeks ago asking ? how am i supposed to get the tent back in the bag?, they describe it as oversized, i`d like to see how they do it, i can`t!, anyway looks like a good buy very pleased.
------------- if it aint broke, fix it till it is!

Jill, Have just put up orchy in garden.. it's lovely and sunny here-very tempted to stay out there and pretend I was on lovely peaceful campsite somewhere! Good news is I managed it on my own although my brother popped round for moral support he did not help. However, there were a couple of bits the kids (my two are 10- so will be quite useful) would be able to do like holding poles steady which I hope would make it bit quicker- it took me 40 mins. That does include time spent swapping porch and bedroom poles round with tent up when I realised I had put them wrong way round! Hopefully will be quicker next time. I got tent back in bag fairly easily but had to call on my brother to help getting poles back in as well - wouldn't have been end of the world to leave out as they have their own bag but.. 'oversized bag'?! -not quite!
One thought- main poles are really long- may be worth putting them together as you thread them through to make them easier to handle... if there were tents either side of you, you may not have the room needed to swing them about!
Was feeling very pleased with myself until I tried to put up sun canopy that I bought separately- no instructions with it and the basics were obvious enough but could not get it right at all (brother did help this time!). Any ideas?!
Cheers, Sarah x
