Has anyone bought the new Vango Killington yet. I had one last year but it was recalled due to leakage. Need to get a new tent for this year and found that the Killington ticked all boxes for what we want from a tent but I am unsure about getting another.

I dont think vango would put it back onto the market again if there were still problems with it. If its back on sale and its ideal fot you then i would get it.
Would certainly agree. Vango quality is generally very good and when they spotted the issue with the Killington it was withdrawn very quickly. If Vango have reissued the tent I would think they have probably ironed out the problem and if as you say the tent ticks all the bxes then i would go for it.

I'm sure that they have put it right this year. Like above posts say, surely they have addressed the issues and 2008 versions are good to go. If you loved it so much, give it another try! Enjoy it, got my fingers crossed for you.

We got the 2008 model to replace our leaky 07 model, but was disapointed that vango have taken the door between the porch and living area away. Living area not as cosy as 07 model as you now get the drafts from the front door! Defeats the object of the SIG! Also there is no longer a EHU entry point, and the side door had to be used instead. Take a look at the new Outwell Hartford xl, this years model is a huge improvement on last years, def worth a look.
Hi melbaz - yeah we pitched the new killington, no where near as good as the 07 model. It did make a big difference without that door there, was a lot more drafty. We have taken this tent back as it no longer ticks all our boxes. Yeomans at Sc**thorpe have been great, they let us have the Outwell Hartford xl in its place and gave us a credit note for the difference. Cant fault them at all!

Yeah thats the only thing with the hartford, it only comes in the one colour as far as Im aware. But for me, I'd rather have the cosiness that comes with having that extra door, than darker bedrooms. But its each to their own isnt it, it depends on how high on your list of priorities the darker bedrooms come. Let us know what you decide on. I'd be interested to know if anyone else has noticed a difference with that door not being there. At first I thought maybe we had got a faulty model, but thought again - vango wouldnt miss out something like that accidentially! Anyone else with any views on this?
