I have a new shiney Royal Montpellior 9 Berth Tent

Has any one got any good advice on the best way to pitch a very large dome tent. as when putting on the fly sheet it is very hard to pull it over the top of the tent that is around 7Ft high and more fun on your own or with a short helper.[:errr:]

Once the tent is up it is fantastic.

Don't forget to leave a review of all tents you've used, for a chance to win fantastic prizes

New! Please upload a photo of your tent to the Tent Showcase!

No idea myself Colin, it would be difficult for a shorty like me.

I hope one of our Motpelier owners will be along with some tips soon.

We had the same problem with our Diablo 900 which is a swine to pitch if there is any real wind about. The only trick I picked up from somewhere was to tie extra guy lines to the existing guys on  the porch area. Then tie a tent peg to the end of the extended guy and throw the peg from back of the tent to the front. While someone holds the flysheet down at the back of the tent I would then pull the fly over the inner using the 2 extended guys. It is actually easier than trying to "float" the flysheet over the erected inner only to form a huge parachute to drag you off your feet if the wind catches it..
