Hi
I am looking to purchase one of the above two tents but am not sure which one. I like the porch of the aspen but like the flysheet first pitching of the breckenridge. Please help me decide.

Also does anybody know if these tents have cable entry points and light hooks in the ceilings with velcro to hold the cables much like in the outwells.

Thanks in anticipation

Hi Strett,

The Breckenridge has cable entry points and velcro to hold the cables.  THere must be some rings in the roof 'cause I strung up a washing line in there last year!

Breckenridge weighs a tonne, porch a bit small but internal space well laid out....

Aspen weighs 2 tonnes and would be wet through if it was raining during pitch, but is more cosy due to double skin

Our breckenridges leaked in numerous places so we don't have one any more!

Hope it helps!

Breckenridge is also discontinued so it will be a 2007 model. A shame really because I think the layout and bedroom configuration along the length is better than other 6 man tents. The bedroom pods on the Breck are also proper doubles rather than the 140cm pod doubles on most other tents

Hi Strett

We've just bought the Aspen700dlx from jrleisure through ebay for £245 + £12p+p (they charge £25 p+p on their website) and the footprint for £29.99 (no extra p+p).

The porch on the Aspen and because the bedrooms can be opened into one or split into 3 swung it for us.  Can't answer re: entry points and light hook but I'm certainly expecting them on such a big and expensive tent.  Inner first isn't that big a deal - just stick a heater on and/or open the doors once the rain has stopped.

Can't wait for our first trip.
