Hi, i'm new to this site and looking for advice please.
Myself, hubby and 2 small children are looking to buy an easy to pitch tent for odd 1-2 night breaks in our local area. We have a large people carrier so we have storage space in our rather large boot. Would this be a suitable tent? I know there will just be space to sleep but I don't want to waste our money on this tent if there are better easy (must be quick) to pitch tents around a similar price. Thank you in advance.
PS Sorry haven't worked out how to do links but here's the web address:
hi! looks an ok tent but with the four of you have you thought of having a small tent with a proper living area? at the end of the day its what meets your needs but i hav 2 kids and a hub and if its bad weather even for the night its nice to have space to dump muddy gear and still have room to play a game without having to get all your beds mucked up.i lke the vango orchy but there are loads of other similar style tents that range from 60 upwards. i reckon about 20 mins to pich and cos you wont have a lot of gear youll have the cuppas made in about half an hour.
I.ve been looking around myself in the last few weeks, one of the best buys I've seen is the Khyam Santiago only £89 at outdoorworld, They are also on ebay.

Hi! Just bought this tent for over night stays. Very surprised when we put it up as to how much room there is inside. As my partner is 6'3" he was worried if the tent would be long enough for him to sleep without touching the sides and its fine good 4" on either side. However its only the 2 of us and 2 extremely large dogs. Not sure what it would be like with small children if the weather was bad, But friends of ours saw how quick it was to put up and put away and they rushed out and bought one. They have 2 girls under 10, as they said if the weather looks bad they wont go away in it - will use it for spur of the moment trips!
Tent folds down to about 1" thick disc which is about 3' in diameter. Its up in about 5 minutes as there are 2 poles and the fly sheet to add after main tent has popped up, then very easy to take down again takes about 5 minutes.
We looked at the Twsiter 5 before buying this and asked for a demo and it went up great but the 2 owners of the camping store really struggled to put it away! Took them over 30 minutes! they were really disappointed as on the video for the tent it made it look so easy!

Thanks to all that replied sorry its taken me a few days to read the responses. We're still very undecided, but when I get a minute i'll have a look at the tents you've suggested and have a discussion with hubby. Thanks again
The DS4 wouldn't be a bad choice, but I know Quechua makes a cheaper 4-man (4-man pop-up). They also make a great one with living area (and still pop-up!).
Other solution would be a pyramid tent, you will find many of them. Not a pop-up but very easy to pitch

I would suggest that you see if you can find an exhibition (Possibly Yeomans) and have a really good look at what is available, walk into them, sit in them, lay in them and see how you feel in each. Do not however forget however all of the other kit that you will need and allow sufficient room for it all.
