There is a lot of divided opinion on this forum about Rage tents. Have a look here to start you off. Also doing a search for "tentastic" if this is who you are considering as your supplier might prove useful.

Can I just add, if it's any help, you could post your requirements and your budget on the forum and we will all pitch in to find your perfect tent!

There are a couple of members here who are quite happy with their Rage tents, or similar ones from Tentastic. However there have been many more who were totally let down by both their tents and their ebay seller. My advice is just don't. As matshan says, tell us what you want, how many are in your family, what type of camping you intend to do (weekends? Longer?) and budget, and we'll see what we can suggest. There are some great bargains in good quality discontinued tents around at the moment.

My brother in law has just made the mistake(in my opinion) of buying a Rage Vardo. Not the same as yours I know but if its a good marker for quality across the range then i wouldn't touch it with a barge pole. He borrowed my back garden to put it up and the thing was terrrible, seams had very poor stitching, fibreglass poles seemed sub-standard, way to small a diameter for the size of the tent, and the fly just looked way thin, just like a bit of tissue.

Like Valk mentions there are people who are happy with their tents but i would put money on the fact that it is their first tent and haven,t used a proper quality one yet.

Always buy the best you can afford, think of a budget and search about. If I had the choice with say £70 odd quid to spend I would rather trawl through the bay and pick up a good second hand of a more reputable manufacturer.

Just.

No. I was very happy with the quality of the Rage tent I bought last year. I have been camping 50 years and have used many, many different tents over that time.

So you lose your money.

Unless you have used one yourself I don't see how you can comment on them.

This or this look like a similar layout to the rage you were looking at, can you give an idea of budget?

The following are some of the more established tent brands Sunncamp, Outwell, Khyam, Wynnester, Gelert, Lichfirld, Easycamp, Vango, Royal, Coleman. This may help in your search

Do you want a tent with a bedroom big enough to take all four of you, or are you planning to have one child in with each parent?

Also, would you prefer a tent with a loose lay groundsheet (like the Rage or Colorado shown above) or a sewn in groundsheet (SIG) which means the base is fully enclosed?

Well, I think you would need a tent where you had a big living space plus the sort of bedroom area that would normally be divided into two by either a removable divider or a connecting door that you could roll up out the way. You're not all going to fit on one double airbed after all. What are you intending to sleep on? Do you want to be able to fit a travel cot into the bedroom pod as well? Bedroom pods tend to be pretty small, even nominal 4-berths. When our younger one was a baby we had a tent with 4-berth bedroom pods and we had me (on a single airbed) plus the travel cot in one pod, with Hubby and five year old son in the other. We'd never have all crammed into one pod.

Lots of questions, but very relevant ones I do assure you. Also, do you intend to camp just for short trips (in which case you can get away with something smaller) or for a week or two? And what's your budget?

I can't belive I'm about to suggest an Outwell tent rather than a Vango, but this sort of layout might suit your needs if you were using it for shorter trips...the Outwell Oregon 5. Very flexible sleeping space and would suit the kids as they got older, plus a big main living area.
