Not sure about the carbon production of an average uk camping holiday but I suspect it would be less than a tenth of the cost of flying to Spain and probably less than half the cost of driving and ferries. Not realy a matter of interest round here though I am afraid. This is (along with the Mail) one of the few places left that believes global warming is a worldwide conspiricy.
A family of four taking a return flight from London to Santander produces on average 1.12 tonnes of carbon emissions; the same family travelling by ferry and car will produce on average .32 tonnes or less than a third of those produced by flying*.
