Hi there we are new to the Camping game. We have 2 children 11 and 2 ( obviously nothing on the telly that day !. We have seen 2 tents we like the look of. Vango Amazon 600 ( or ) 800. Not sure if the 600 will be too small or the 800 too big. Also the Outwell Sun Valley 6 ( or ) 8 for the same reason previously mentioned. Is there any one out there who can shed some experience on this or even recommend an alternative.

Thank you

The Joneses

Have to admit don't know anything about those tents specifically (although I'm sure someone will be along soon who does) but I would always go for bigger size. There are 4 of us (me, OH and 10 year old twins) and we have 8 man tent as you have to think of all your stuff as well. Also the tent manufacturers calculations seem to based on very thin people (without airbeds) who like to sleep very close together! Welcome to camping and this site x

Hi Joneses and welcome,

have you viewed either of them yet?

I havent seen the vango, but  i was considering the outwell one myself ,and have been in  the sunvalley 8. I thought that the bedroom in the living room was waste of space, it was in the way, so to speak. I would have not wanted it up in the daytime, and wouldn't want to be faffing about putting it up at night if it was needed.

I went for the outwell nevada xl in the end. It's big enough, and light inside with plenty of windows, and really easy to pitch.

Try a search on here, there's bound to be plenty of info about both tents you like.
