Hi all. Great forum this, have used the reviews section a lot in the past when hunting for decent campsites!
Wondered if anyone has used the Vango Beta 350? Previously my camping has been pretty basic (2-man Delta 200 tent and a meths cooker) but this summer I'm planning on a few trips with my four year old so am on the lookout for another tent. As I'm on my own I don't want anything too big that I'll struggle to put up. Also we dont need vast amounts of space as hopefully we'll be camping as light as is possible with a four-year old! The 350 seems a reasonable price and has a porch I'll be able to sit off in when she's asleep so looks like a good bet.
Or is it a bit small?
Any thoughts? :)
cheers
Ben

Hi Ben
Like you I am upgrading from a 2 man tent & spent hours surfing trying to decide! The Vango Beta 350 isn't that tall, so you'll be able to pitch it on your own, but won't be able to stand up in it. Even though you say you'll be travelling light you'll need extra space for all your stuff. I'm camping on my own this summer with 6 yr old & 18 months, I have decided on a 6 berth tent to give us plenty room, & also room to play if we have a wee drop of the wet stuff!!!
We've got a 350, a great tent and ideal for what you seem to be looking for. Easy to pitch on your own and was stable in very wet and windy conditions last year.
Best price I found was at outdoorgear4u.co.uk, but that was last year.
Good luck - If you buy one I'm sure you won't regret it!
I guess the best thing to do will be to actually go and look at one. Fingers crossed the offspring enjoys the outdoors experience! I'm only planning one or two night trips, so something easy to pitch is a priority.

In the end I took a chance and went for the Beta 450. Seems just the job, had no trouble putting it up and there's plenty of room as at the moment we're only planning on staying local and camping for 1 or two nights at the most. If daughter decides she likes it we might get something bigger in the future!
