Hi,

I stumbled on this forum a few weeks ago & have found it brilliant so far,, so I'm hoping that you can help me more!

We are a family of 3 + 1 dog, hoping to expand to a family of 5 eventually (probably with more dogs!). We intend to camp mainly in UK, but possibly France etc. I am looking for a tent that gives us inside living space & seperate adult/kids bedrooms.

The shortlist is now:

Vango Orchy (looks like approx £160)

Vango Wyoming (on offer at Blacks £149)

Vango Colorado (£190)

I am looking to spend £200 or less as I need to get other kit too..... any advice on how to decide between them...or if I have missed anything brilliant?

Thanks in advance!

I have similar query. I have used vango and been impressed with their quality but believe they are not as good as they used to be? has anyone else found this?

We are considering the Wyoming, which is on offer at a few places, but this makes me wonder why? is there something wrong with it?

I have used a vango in the past at scout camps and found that although it was supposed to sleep 4 in each bedroom in reality you could only get 3 in because of the angle of the outside wall. We need to get two in one end and two teenagers in the other, hopefully with a separating curtain? are looking at 8 berth to get adequate room for 4 for two week holiday in the uk.

any advice welcome

thanks :)

colorado cheaper here at £149.95but older 2006 model, has free large vango canopy though. Or same price here for a 2008 sample

To decide I would consider height, windows, ease of pitching, layout, vents, doors and pitch size.

Thanks phil+ruth, that look slike a good deal. I was leaning towards a tunnel tent after reading about pitch size problems & being realistic about persuading my husband to camp for more than a couple of days! I'm not convinced that I will ever decide!

How did you get on badger? having read lots and lots on here we are going for a SIG as we live in cold wet windy scotland. also dome tent for wind protection rather than tunnel which I also fancied. have seen Khyam kansas at £199 at the outdoor megastore, also fancy outwell nevada xl if i can persuade hubby to pay the extra!
