We bought a Wynnster Kestrel 5 last year to return to camping after a number of years.  We had dithered about starting again but are really glad that we did and find the Kestrel has plenty of room, suits us down to the ground.

Hi , me again, can you time how long it takes you to put the tent up when you do it please? I just realised i hadn't a clue how long it takes to put up, and my sis is a complete beginner. Fingers crossed it stays dry for you.

Hi Debbie

We put it up the other night. Or should I say I put it up, tried to do it all my own but Hubby had to put 2 poles in their final holes as I didn't have the strength. We didn't peg it all in and only put one bedroom in.  We then took it down after laying the carpet to check it fitted and oohing and aahing about how good it all looked. And that was all in well under an hour.  I would say it would take about 20 - 30 minutes to do it properly.

Thanks for that,Jane  just what I was hoping to hear. We pitched the nevada in my sisters garden and she was impressed that it only took 20 minutes, although not fully guyed out, due to lack of space. sounds about the same then.

I would say with practice and 2 of you at it, it will take no more than half an hour start to finish.

I think we should set up a Kestrel appreciation society!  Also listing times to put up our tents from start to finish!

Hi, I was just wondering if you had put yours up yet. My sisters should be here on Monday. can't wait, I hope i'm well enough to put it up by then

,but I don't know where we will be able to put it up though. my garden is no good as it is in layers, hers is too narrow, we just squeezed the nevada on , but this one is wider, defintely wont fit..

She looked at me with one of THOSE looks when I suggested we could put it up in the park

I was serious, she thinks I'm winding her up.

Can't wait to see her face when I tell her to go and buy a UFO light for it.

Oh yes its up beefysmum! Its fab! I would go to the park or a field somewhere won't be a problem and you might even get some help! Took us 55 mins with no swearing or falling out!! just been out to close her up for the night and have another geeky look at the inside and all the little storage compartments etc. Lots of great thoughtful bits to this tent! you won't be dispappointed.

What? Your'e not sleeping in it?  Shame on you. a garden big enough to camp in and a tent up and you're sleeping indoors.

If we go to our local  park, we'll get laughed at, not helped let me tell you.

P.S what airbeds have you got Debbie? Can't decide whether to get one of those high airbeds in queen size or two single airbeds for me and hubby? What do you have?

After going down the thought process of self inflating mats v airbeds, and general feeling was only the better quality more expensive self inflaters were any good., I decided to go for bog standard airbeds again. i find them comfy enough, I've had the rubberised red& blue ones in argos, and the vinyl flocked top ones, found both as comfy, no problem, just hate pumping them up. i ordered the gelert ones from clearance tents, awnings direct £8.99 doubles £6.75 singles, and their super kingsize square ended  60 oz sleeping bags,£14,99 each, cheap as chips. Fab thick sleeping bags.
