Sorry to put a spanner in the works, but we have just returned our Sprayway Vallley 6 (pollycotton) for a full refund. It leaked all over the place, even the groundsheet was porous, water seaping up through the ground !!!!!  If it's cold at night, the air vents in the bedrooms 1 above and the 1 below make the sleeping compartments very cold and draughty. I absolutely loved this tent to bits, but a porous groundsheet, appauling. This spoilt our first trip of the season and dashed our hopes of this super tent !

I will be writing to Sprayway about it.

Has anybody else had problems with their new Sprayway. We have just got back from our first trip and although erecting the tent went well and we had a really good first ever camping trip we have now noticed some holes and damage to the groundsheet. I am dissappointed a little that we will probably have to return it for all of the post above reasons too. Fortunately we had super warm sleeping bags and fan heaters however if you plan to use this tent in very wet weather or anything colder than this weekend you risk everything getting wet and freezing in your sleeping pod. We dont plan to camp in colder weather however I am disappointed for the money that we will only be able to use this tent in fair weather. I am going to contact Outdoor World/Sprayway for their comments and possibly a replacement groundsheet/inner.

I can't believe that these tents have not been thoroughly tested. I have now read about another 3 people having the same problem as we did. Sprayway are a reputable company and I would have expected better from them. I pity the poor people who have taken or are about to take their new Sprayway out in dry weather, who have not read the threads and reviews on here only to find out in later holidays that their tent is not....at all waterproof when they encounter the wet weather.

Has anyone got any good reports about their new Sprayway????

After the disaster we had clare, it's put me off for life! We decided to stick with our canvas frame tent for longer holidays and buy the simple Kyham Kansas 8 for shorter ones lol.

Tbh i think somewhere along the line Sprayway will have a cracking range of tents! I just won't be buying one lol.

The Sprayway Valley 6 does look good but it's their first year of manufacturing them & they look as though they're having some teething problems. If you cannot wait to see if they've ironed out any problems by next year then we would recommend the Monty 6 as they are a proven tent & one of Outwells bestsellers.

We love our Monty 6 & would recommend to anyone, you also have a selection of accessories which can be added over a period of time if you desire.

i.e. Front Extension, Side Canopy or Carpet.

Good luck whatever you decide....happy camping.

We decided to keep our Sprayway and just had a replacement Inner as I did fall in love with it. Although we did discover a few splits in the inner when we got home, we did have a dreadful downpoor and our Polycotton withstood this. We decided that we would be able to live with the draughty bedrooms, and I am sure it will be a different picture in July and be quite welcome for that afternoon siesta. I must say that Outdoor World were very interested in the feedback and said that they welcome any feedback so they could continue working with Spray to resolve any issues. We are having another trip out next weekend so I will have to wait and see if we any further troubles. I am really hoping that I wont have to return this tent.

Unfortunately, we too have had problems with a Sprayway Valley 6 (Polyester).

Firstly, there are many positive things to say about this tent, for such a big tent it was straightforward to pitch, withstood a heavy downpour with no leaks, the space inside was fantastic, seemed solid in some pretty strong winds and has some really excellent touches inside.

However, the negatives outweigh the positives in our experience of this tent.

The main issue we had was that the inner tent didn't fit properly - after hooking it into the flysheet the sig ended up about about 4 inches off the ground on the external edges of the middle of the tent. This was putting a lot of pressure on the fasteners which hook the SIG to base of the flysheet (to the point where a small tear actually appeared on the SIG where the fastener is sewn on to it). Also, it meant that the wind was able to blow under the groundsheet itself which obviously isn’t good.

We also ordered the footprint groundsheet - Initially I thought we had the same problem others had reported where it was out of sync with the tent but then realised I had it upside down (the fasteners should be on the underside of the footprint). The problem I then found with the footprint was that it didn't have the corresponding eyelets in the porch where the main entrance to the tent is and also where the storage area is pegged down. This meant that all the strain for the whole front half of the SIG was on the 2 corner eyelets in the porch and as a result both of which ended up ripping (which also makes me question the quality of the groundsheet).

Lastly, we also found the vents in the sleeping pods to be a big problem - it was quite windy at the weekend and the wind was blowing under the skirts of the flysheet and straight into the sleeping pods through the vents – its really quite strange that every single air vent and window in the main tent can be closed off to prevent draughts except the 4 in the sleeping pods - this seems a huge oversight from Sprayway. It would be fine if you only go camping abroad or in the warm weather but as we only camp in the UK from late spring to early autumn, this is a big problem for us.

I am so disappointed - Sprayway could have had a fantastic tent on their hands but for the problems I listed above. I’ve no doubts that Sprayway will rectify these problems after the feedback they get this year but that’s not a lot of use to us at the moment. I have spoken to Outdoor world who have offered a replacement or refund so I have no complaints with the service they offer - We've decided swap for an Outwell but haven’t yet made my mind up to go for the Montana 6 (with extension) or the Vermont M.
