Hi there

After reading terrible reviews for the impulse buy tent I about last week I have decided to get another.

I am severely tempted by the Wynnster Pharoah for £99 at Go outdoors.  It just seems like a massive bargain.

Otherwise I'm thinking of a fairly cheap Vango tent on ebay.  I've seen one called a vango 500 it looks a bit like the Vango Tamor on the Vango website.

In an ideal world I don't want something that is impossible to put up and the Pharoah looks fairly complicated.  However the pharoah does look a bit more solid (if that makes sense) and its only for me and the occasional friend.  Also I'm fairly tall for a girl and don't like being cramped in.

What would you do?  I'm can't stop dithering over which one to get!

Here's another tent for you to look at. Ideal for four people, with lots of living space. You'd really need two to put it up though, but so would the Pharoah.

The Vango Venture 500 is a real classic design and very popular. Ideal for a couple and one person can put it up.

Woman after my own heart, lol. (Except I DO go camping!)

Which two did you buy? The Wynnster and the Venture?

Haha yes is that terrible?  I just thought that they were both bargains and the Wynnster would be good if I went away with friends and the Vango for when I'm alone as i will eb able to manage it.

All I have to do now is find someone to camp with!  I'm as excited as a child at Christmas!

Have a look at the meets threads, you'll find loads of places to go and you'll meet loads of friendly campers.  We did this 2 years ago and never looked back. We started off with a cheap tent off ebay and ended up with 5 tents and, now, we're onto our 2nd caravan, lol.

Cheers Paul.

Cheers Paul.

Chika

You should be on a shopping forum - not a camping one

Before you buy any more tents, I think the best thing to do is take one tent away for a weekend and see how it suits you.  I don't think there is any substitute for trying a tent out in "real" conditions.

I hesitate to say this, but you also need to make sure you have a good sleeping bag and mattress..."any fool can be uncomfortable", my wife's old college tutor used to say (apparently).

Hi, I know, I know!  My housemates think I'm mad.  I'm just working out how to sneak the new tents in the house without them noticing.

I'm going to give the Vango a trial run this weekend, probably in Halifax as its a wee bit away from my house but sufficiently close to my mothers so if I decided to give up halfway through the night I can go home.

Thanks for the advice AndyBrad, The mattress was one of the first things I bought and will pop into Go outdoors later for a comfy sleeping bag.  Ooohhh more shopping, how exciting!  Joking!
