We are currently the proud owners of a outwell norfolk lake but i am now looking for a weekend tent i would like to keep to outwell but i would consider others. I
have started to look at the minnesota 4 but just wondered if they are worth the money as a weekend tent.
Please Help.

If you want something that is quick and easy to erect have a look at the Khyam Ridgidome range, they are still the quickest by far. We have an Outwell for long breaks and the Khyam XXl Excelsior for weekends, The Khyam has loads of room but can be put up and down in minutes. But it depends what the key issues are for you, for us i wanted quick erect as the thought of sepnding over an hour setting up was putting me off going for 2 nights ( getting lazy in my old age)
Have you looked at the 'Sea' range. Same fabrics as the 'Lakes'.
You have had the same thought as us. We have a Bear Lake, fab tent, but much too big for overnights. We went shopping on Saturday and came home with a Sunncamp Evolution 400. Not in the same league as the Bear Lake but quick to erect, stable in winds, SIG, enough room for 4 to sleep and a reasonable porch area.

Yes we did look at the sea range but still a bit pricey. We just can't seem to find anything other than outwell that takes our fancy especially the polycotton ones. What is one to do .
The Vango Orchys seem to be a popular choice, we were going to get one this year but have decided to change our main tent instead!! You can stand up in them and they range from 4 to 6 berth for around the 130-160 ish mark!!
What about the Gelert Twister 4 or 5? they are "pop up" tents so easy tp pitch. (TouTube has a quick pitching clip you can watch) We have just orderd the twister 4 for a weekend/festival tent.

weve got a large outwell family tent, and a smaller weekend tent. I was so impressed with the outwell, i also thought about sticking to outwell. However i thought that while there large tent were worth paying for as they were fairly unrivaled, i felt there were enough good smaller tents out there to search for one at a better price.
Ended up getting a Sandringham from Millets. it cost £129 last year, but by the end of the season it was down to £70 (although i noticed its back to £129 again now!). Anyway i bought one last year and im really pleased with it. I can errect it on my own in 20 mins and took 3 kids away in it on my own. (its a 4 berth with good standing room, plenty of living space and packs away very small and light.
