Hi All, Well after spending a wet weekend away the wife suggested that we get the Front Extension for our Monty 6. Now at the time I thought that this was a great idea but after looking at the pictures on the Outwell website I now wonder how useable the space actually is? It looks like the guy lines all get in the way and make the space NOT very useable at all!!

So can anyone who actually has one give me some feedback please on how useful the extra space privided is?? TIA.

Hi mick,you read my mind we swapped our kitchen tent for the canopy for the georgia nad as the weathers so bad we have only been able to go away in our tunnel tent grrr,anyway we are pitching it this weekend so ill try and post pics and let you know i did not even think about the guy ropes.

"irn bru" it looks from your second picture that the two frontmost guys from the monty are set quite close to the main tent but the corner guys are left loose?? Is this correct and does it not reduce the stability of the front end especially if it was windy?? Or does the extension provide the extra rigidity because I assume it's cliped on in some way? In fact how does it attach?

Well looks like I better go and buy one before my OH changes her mind. I'm not one of the types who agree with cooking inside and this looks ideal even for providing shade (if we ever get any sun that is) as well as shelter! The other option was to get the Matching Tarp (and put a our wind break around it) that outwell do but I would prefer the extension as it looks like part of the setup.

We pitch our the same way as irn bru. We don't attach the two side guys of the tent and when we used it in Perranporth last summer we had some pretty strong winds (most other tents didn't stand it well) we had no problems at all!

With regards to how usefull? Couldn't do without it now! It gives extra space for cooking etc as well as sitting in out of the wind. It also stops the rain from going in the tent and is great for taking shoes off before entering the tent (without getting wet from the rain!!

We also tie the washing line to one side to hang wet towels on, they dry in no time without having soggy towels in the tent!

Well I took the plunge and bought the extension yesterday and it's now in the trailer ready for action!! Only problem now is I have to wait until our next trip on 23rd May to use it .
