Hi all,

I have done a search on the site and found evidence that a few of you have had problems with the poles splitting on the 2007 model. I just wondered if anyone had splurged on the new 2008 model with sig and if so...how are you finding it?

We're up for a new tent and I quite fancy the size and the polycotton fabric, however I am aware of the extra weight and the possible problem with the poles. FYI I have emailed Khyam in France to see what they have to say and I will post the response as and when. In the mean time if anyone has any further info I would appreciate it.

Thanks

Obviously not a popular tent amongst the clan. Nevermind

I'll still keep you posted if I hear back from Khyam

Cheers

Hi, this is my first post.

I am looking to buy a tent for family holidays (me, the wife, and 3 kiddies 5yrs, 3yrs and 9 months)

As you Victor I have been attracted to the Indiana 8 Polycotton due to the advantages of the PC flysheet (warmth/coolness, better quality, less noise/movement etc) and its price £350!!! Cannot seem to get any other big enough family polycotton tent at the price (bedrooms are a good size). But like you worried about previous posts regarding the poles snapping. Although Khyam don't list it as an improvement for 2008, from the research I have done it appears that the 2007 version had 13mm fibreglass poles and the 2008 version has 16mm fibreglass poles. Can anybody confirm this? Wondered if this was Khyam's response to the poles problem.

I am so tempted to buy this tent, along with footprint groundsheet and carpet. anybody know of a suitable additional porch (perhaps at the rear) I could add to this tent to facilitate cooking outside the tent??

regards,

Gary

Any reason you have emailed Khyam in France? I would try emailing Eurotech in the UK (customercare at etech.uk.com) which I believe is the overall parent company! I have always had a pretty quick response from them!

Does anybody know if this tent is available to view anywhere near to me? I live on the Shropshire/Welsh/Cheshire border half way between Shrewsbury and Chester.

Gary
