I'm looking for a 4 berth tent which packs down as small as possible. Our estate car with roof box was packed to the rafters last year and we have now acquired a dog, so have even less space available. We have a Coleman Sahara, which we love, but it's pretty bulky. Any ideas?

It all depends how much you are willing to compromise on space. the tent you have now has steel poles , so probably a tent with fibreglass poles would be smaller pack size. But what are your needs regarding bedrooms and living space, etc. something like the vango venture 5 has a smaller pack size, and is a popular weekender choice, but would a tent this size give you enough room for longer stays?
Thank you. They both look just the sort of thing I'm looking for. I know I won't get the space of the Sahara and just have it in mind for weekends. I have no idea what we'll do for longer stays.

why dont you buy a trailer instead off losing the quality of the tent for a smaller one with fiber glass poles than a large one with solid poles get a trailer the list of extras you take can be endless then

There are also 4 of us and we are off to France in the summer for a month. We are taking our car (Honda Accord so not huge) with no roof box and no trailer. With that in mind we have downsized our tent to a Coleman Columbus 4 in polycotton and feel that this will be plenty of room for us, not planning on spending much time in it to be honest, we have also added the Vango large canopy for some extra space.
