Hi

We may need to replace our big tunnel tent this year, as it was starting to show signs of UV damage last year (sob! sniff!) We can't find anything to match it for quality (its a Vango Quest 600 which have not been made since 2006) so we are looking at models such as the Outwell Nevada L.

However, we also like the look of the new Vango Yukon but cannot find anywhere in the E midlands or S Yorks with it on display. So, I have two questions>

1. Does anyone know where it IS on display?

2. Can anyone confirm if it has mesh doors on the flysheet as this does not appear in the list of specifications and it is an important feature for us.

Im sure its on display at ambleside in Yeomans (possibly a bit far away for you though!).   Unfortunately I didnt pay much attention to the doors.

I had a look at it on display in Frensham, Surrey. I was also comparing it to the Nevada L. It didn't have have mesh on the doors - one of the things that we also want.

Just got one of these and had a trial pitch, sorry but I awsn't concentrating on the mesh doors but I recall the end (optional door) does but the side doesn't.

I won't get a chance to get it all out before we go away in 2 weeks time. In the meantime, why not phone Vango, I found them helpful when looking around for ours. If you are still undecided in 2 weeks I'll post back

Although we have just got the Yukon 800 and I have taken it for a weekend as a trial outing, unfortunatly I cannot guarantee the mesh status of the doors; I have a feeling that one of the side doors does (the one that cannot be supported as a canopy with the included poles) but the opposite one doesn't. Incidentally, I am fairly sure the large bedroom has a mesh behind each of the two doors and that there is a mesh panel above the two side windows.
Providing it has the specific meshing you want, I can thoroughly recommend it; it appears to be well put together, stable, surprisingly quick to put up and take down, nice and light inside, good ventilation and a good sized bag to store it in (although the storage bag is quite big to house). The only downsides I could see were that the large bedroom seemed to be under a bit of strain when fastened to the flysheet and that the fastenings to hold the roof window covers in place don't look as though they will last forever - in both cases I plan to extend the fastenings by using a bit of spare guyline.
Highbridge caravans seem to have good offer on at the moment - tent with official vango carpet and footprint for £265 including postage (£220 on its own).

i'm seriously considering a Yukon 80 and am seeking some advice

we will have 2 double mattrasses(140cm wide) - is each bedroom compartment wide enough to take these

how cumbersome is the pack the tent is stored in

would the yukon600 be big enough for 4 of us(we would remove the smaller bedroom for extra living space)

Apologies, we didn't get to use the Yukon 600 the first planned weekend but we used it last weekend.

1.It doesn't have mesh doors but does have very good, controllable ventilation through three large mesh panels in the tent.

2. We used it with just the main bedroom in, which gave loads of floor space and the main bedroom is big enough for 2 double mattresses, although 4 adults would have to be VERY close friends. However the little two man room could be used at night and taken down during the day quite easily

3. I can confirm it's very stable after last Sunday!!

4. Comes in a wheely bag which you can fit the poles in as well, if you do it is heavy but I wheeled in across a field from the car, good 10 min walk without any problems. If you were able to park next to the pitch it wouldn't be a problem.
