Hi Folks

I already have a Gelert LV5 which I love for myself, my wife and my 3 year old daughter. We even use this on short stay of two nights and don't mind the hour it takes to pitch.

The problem is that my wife is due to give birth to our second child in 4 weeks but I would like to take my 3yr old away for a couple of nights every month or so. No more than two nights and potentially a lot of one night stops.

Requirements are as follows:

budget approx£70 (one wage for next 9 months so going to be quite tight financially)

Preferably living area which I can stand up in and have some chairs set up. Also has to have enough space to colour in, do jigsaw puzzles etc.

And most importantly a HH of at least 2000mm. We live in the Scottish highlands.

I have seen a couple on the internet that look ok, but as we don't have any tent show here i have to buy on recommendations. I have looked at quencha T4 XL, Wynnster shrike 4, gelert stratus 3 tunnel tent.

Any thoughts appreciated.

Jim

I've just gone out today and bought the Vango Venture 500 from Go Outdoors in Sheffield.

£75, two doorways, two windows, enough room in the living area to get two seats and a table i'd say.

Two bedrooms big enough for a double airbed each, and if you prefer to have one large room you can remove the central piece of cloth.

The only thing that would have made it perfect for me would have been a sewn in groundsheet, but its' not the end of the world.

I've just put it up and back down again in about 3/4 hour, not bad for an unfit lady in the sun! lol.

I like this mainly becuase it's not a huge tent but you can comfortably walk around inside.
