Buy an Aspen 700DLX now.  We are 2 adults, 1 toddler & 1 dog, hoping to expand the family over the next few years.  I have searched for the last couple of months for a tent that will suit us - we want separate bedrooms, height for my tall husband to stand & enough living area to cope with UK camping & an active toddler!  I was convinced that the Aspen is the one.  I was looking a the 500DLX, but the 700DLX is only a bit more money so seemed worth the investment.  However, if we're honest we probably don't need that much bedroom space just yet.....then we stumbled on the Coleman CEdar Creek for considerably less money than the Aspen but for less space.

So.....my question to you guys is:

Do we go for a Cedar Creek (or equivalent space) now & then look for an Aslen/Zambezi in 2-3 years time OR do we go for the Aspen 700DLX now?

Also, does the Cedar Creek give us enough living space for UK camping?

Please help me as I am going round in circles!

Thank you!

Personally i'd go for the 700 DLX now, just for the room, no need to put all the bedrooms up to start with giving you plenty of storage space, some don't like the thought of inner pitch first in case you have to pitch in the rain when the inner will get wet but i don't see it as a problem

You can get last years 700 DLX (2007's) for £289 with free delivery  here if your quick

I saw the 700dlx up at a site a few weeks ago and its a lovely looking tent. Personally i would not like to pitch inner first as we have pitched in the rain a few times! Also depending on when you are ready to have more children, you may well be fed up of it by then and be wanting a new one! I have had 5 new tents in 4 years lol although one was faulty. At the moment i would say living space and height would be your main priority.

Hi we bought the 700dlx for £245 +£12p+p from jrleisure.  We've not tried it out yet but the bedroom/s swung it for us - we've got 3 kids (5yrs, 2yrs and 5months) we wanted to all sleep in the same pod because the kids are so young and this was one of the few tents we can.

We originally wanted a simple tunnel tent but we fell in love with the aspen and had to have it!

jrleisure are advertising it at £265 now - might be worth calling them if you do decide on the aspen...
