Just bought an Outwell Nevada L from Yeomans. On emptying the tent from the bag I noticed re-enforcement on the tape on the groundsheet. So it was back to the shop, the very helpful manager explained it was on all the tents where the internal bedroom attached to the groundsheet. He showed me the one on display. Back to put the tent up and I noticed more re-enforcement tape in a section right in the middle of the tent, this had started to peel off. There was more along the side of the tent. Having previously owned an Outwell Hartford XL which was perfect, I cannot understand all this tape. It is going back to the shop again tomorrow but has anyone else had this problem ?

I have the nevada xl and only put it up the once to check in the garden. I didn't notice any reinforcing tape on mine. I will be using it this weekend, and my sister has the same tent too, I will have a good look at both tents then.
If its peeling off though its not much good is it? Is it inside the tent or underneath?
Very helpful. It is both underneath and on the inside. You would have noticed the section on the inside right in the middle ! Your tent sounds fine, so I will get a replacement.
Mmm , can't say I remember seeing it, that's not saying it wasn't there, because I didn't peg the bedroom down ,only a test pitch, so might have overlooked it.
but tell you what, check back here later on, I will go and see if I can unroll the tent far enough to look for it.

I've been and checked, not looked inside, but there is a square of about 8x 10 inches of tape, on the underneath of the groundsheet. Mine doesn't look as if its particularly well applied either, its lifting slightly at the corners.
there was also a strip about an inch wide, looks if it runs the full length which I thought was tape at first, but it looks more like where they have joined the groundsheet and overlapped it and heat sealed. The square bit looks as if if its groundsheet material been heatsealed on too rather than tape just glued on.
I'm going to use it the weekend and see how it goes. Should hopefully not have trouble with it leaking if its just reinforcing tape, and I will have a tarp underneath it too.
Thanks for checking. The square section underneath I think is fine, the manager at Yeomans showed me this on the tent they had pitched. Again the inch wide joining strip looked very good and perfectly normal. I just have 2 additional sections of tape that look very poor, one in the middle of the tent that is not near any stress points.
Since your tent sounds fine to me, I will get a replacement. It looks a like perfect tent for family camping !
Oh I see, i thought you meant in the middle of the bit where the bedrom pegs down, not in the middle of the living area. I agree there doesn't seem to be any reason to have reinforcement if its not a stress point, unless its been damaged in manufacture and repaired?
I didn't unroll the whole tent, bit difficult indoors, just as far as this square which I assumed is the bedroom pegging point. it is about a quarter of the way in and at the halfway point so most likely that. so no idea if I have any other bits in the living area.
Will you let me know how you get on tomorrow please?

We haven't tried 2 double airbeds in ours, we had one in one side, and used the other for storage and loo.
Looking at the dimensions here it would seem a bit too small. we had a double and a single in the larger bedroom with room to spare. I was surprised at how wide the single gelert mattress was to be honest, like a normal single bed, two small kids could top and tail quite comfortably on that, if that would solve it.
