Has anyone got an Outwell Idaho XL? Can you tell me what you think of it, would you recommend it? Looking to buy a tunnel tent that we can put up quickly, already have a Georgia XL. Thanks
Niki

Hi Niki24, sorry I havn't got an Idaho so cannot advise you on it, but will be watching this thread intently. We also have the Georgia XL and I have seen the Idaho in the flesh. Quite an impressive tent. Havn't even been away in our Georgia yet and I'm already wondering if I've chosen the wrong tent!!
Do you find the Georgia too much of a pain to put up on shorter trips? Trying my hardest to convince OH why we would need two expensive tents!!!!
If you can get to Winfields at Haslingden they have one up with the porch fitted. Have to admit, its a big tent, we are looking at the smaller one for next year (in the sales )but it looks brilliant.
Love my Georgia XL, It has loads of room and is perfect for longer trips away. I love the fact that it has an inner tent because flies and other nasties seem to gather in between the two layers. However on a recent trip away our neighbours who have the montana 12 had their tent up in the time it took my OH to get up the inner tent. We have only pitched the Georgia 3 times so maybe we need more practice but would like a tent we can just throw up if we are going for just one night.
Thanks for the advice Cliff, off to see Idaho now, will post again later x
Niki

Well, been to see the Idaho and love it, found it for £219.95 at Outdooraction (£449.99 at Go Outdoors), out of stock at the moment but more coming in on Wednesday. Definatly going to get one!
Hi Niki24, do they not have to be in stock elsewhere for Go Outdoors to give price match? I have just looked on their price match terms and conditions and it says they have to be in stock and available for despatch from competitors. If not I will phone now!!
Guess we were lucky, sales assistant had to check with the manager and he agreed it. Just been on the outdoor action website and it looks as if they have put the price up, bit annoying as they assured OH it would be staying that price and available on Wednesday!!

Its really easy to pitch and is a fab tent, takes about 45 mins including pegging etc, this was the second time of doing it so may well get even quicker. It is massive though.
The quickest we have set the Georgia is 50 minutes not including guyropes. Does the Idaho get a lot of condensation being single skinned? Sorry I don't mean to hijack the thread but we have a chance of getting one at a pretty good deal.
Yes and no!! If you open all the ventalation bits then definately not as there are two massive doors and two massive woindows that can be left completely open or with the insect netting down. There is also other ventalation flaps. But if you leave it all closed up it can get a little bit damp on the fly sheet. Also we've only been for weekends in it and its also been raining each time so not too sure what it would be like in the dry.
We have also had to return both tents with problems such as small hole and meshes being poor quality and zips that were sewn badly and couldn't shut. Apart from that its fab!
