There is an internal door from the porch into the main living area, sorry I can't comment on whether it would be suitable for doggie bedroom as we aren't dog owners and may depend on how big your dogs are. We tend to use the porch for storage or use it in bad weather as the main exit when we don't have the extension fitted. The Montana is a cracking tent we are really pleased with ours.
The side porch doesn't have a SIG, it comes with a detachable bathtub style one, so depending on what type of dogs you have, they may have let themselves out for walkies by morning !

We have a Monty 6 and use the side porch for the Kampa Khazi overnight. It has a separate door into the tent so gives some privacy. Also a useful entrance/exit in bad weather when you're trying to keep the tent warm inside. As has been said, this does not have a SIG so dogs might escape. Depends on size and how adventurous they are.
Ahh, the toilet/beer cooler/cupboard under the stairs/wardrope/wet boots room/ pan storage area. Best room in the tent but a pants door!
The orientation of the pitch usually dictates what we use the door for but if we put up the canopy and windbrake the front off then it is one of the main doors. Then I tend to use it as a wet coats and boots off area in the height of summer. If you like your entomology you can always put on a lantern and roll up the groundsheet to see how many bugs you can catch over night. The power hook-up comes in in that area as well and can easily be hidden away.
I think that the porch is one of the best features of a well built tent. As for dogs, there is more than ample room for a large dog prison in the main tent (and it makes a handy table). Early morning walkies are best achieved from the (looking back to front) left hand room by unzipping the side door and cliping on the hounds to the pre-prepared dog spike without getting up
I hope this helps
------------- Abe: I used to be `with it.' But then they changed what `it' was. Now
what I'm `with' isn't `it' and what's `it' seems weird and scary
to me. It'll happen to you.
Homer: No way, man. We're gonna keep on rockin' forever!
We have a Monty6 and travel with 2 dogs. Personally I would not use it for the dogs as it is not a SIG area. However, there are mudflaps on the exterior of the porch so if you peg down the external door and the mudflaps it would possibly be secure. The other issue is that it will probably get quite cold in there as while it may be secure it wont be draught proof. We tend to put the dog beds in the living area and move them out during the day if we need the extra space.
