hi everybody,

We bought nebraka xl 2006, we went camping may 2006 and it rained a little,we had a little leak around bedrooms but not loads. We have just got back from camping and it rained the day we were coming home but still notice the leaks in the same place. i was thinking about going over the seams with the seamer provided but would like some advice on the best way to go about this. eg do you do this when the tent is erected and do you seam on the inside and outside?

                                        thanks

Hello london 11. I have the nebraska xl too.Outwell had a lot of problems with this but it seems you got off lightly.Inside the tent, on the seams, they are alredy taped so you would have to do  the seal on the outside.I wouldnt be able to say if its easier up or down to do it .I suppose its if you can reach or not

I also have the Nabraska XL which I have camped with twice (both times in the rain) First time no probs, this time though we appear to have developed several small leaks. I am the most useless at DIY and have no intention of repairing it myself, does anyone know where to get it repaired by someone in Somerset. I know about Scottish Mountain Gear, but the postage will cost more than the repair.

Any ideas greatly received.

I think seams actually need to be sealed from the inside. If the tent has taped seams then the leak will be where there is damage or "lifting" of the manufacturers seal. The only way to deal with this is to identify where the leak is in the seam and apply seam sealant on the inside to the seam.

Everel if you do have small leaks I would be surprised if you will get a repairer to look at the tent for you unless they can specifically identify the source of the leak. Repairers will generally only commit to repairs such as torn canvas or zip replacements and not leaks. However there may be someone who may have another view contrary to mine.
