We are looking for our first tent and are rather bewildered by the choice at the moment, but we were told that tunnel tent are the easiest and fastest to pitch so we are concentrating on those - would people generally agree with this?
Thanks very much

We watched a tunnel tent go up really quickly 3 summers ago - I wanted one! we now have one as I'm lazy and my husband not a natural camper. Ours we lay down, put the poles in, peg one end down, pull other end up, jiggle it a bit to get the shape right, hey presto. I do prefer the tunnel tents with bedrooms at the back though IMHO, more space
I have recently bought a Outwell Nevada L (tunnel) which we will be using for the first time this weekend, having pitched it in the garden it went up in about twenty mins first go.
I will be writting a full review on it when we get back so if this tent is on your short list keep an eye open
Good luck hope to hear of your first camping trip soon

Tunnels are far simpler than domes to put up, but rely more on their guying for optimum strength. However that's not really a problem as one person can guy out solo in most weather, while the other one gets on with the inside set up.

Tunnels for me too, we had a dome a few years ago and I found it much more work. Our tunnels are up and sorted in under half an hour most times and have much more useable space than the dome ever had.
Hi
For most campers a tunnel tent is Ideal, Will be accepted on the majority of camp sites, is reasonably easy to put up in calm weather, I would be tempted to go for an Outwell lake seres, as these tents are breathable and have the strongest pole system in tunnel tents under £700.
Best of luck
