ok  . . first question are you happy or not with current tent

what do you like, what would you change?

what is the difference with canvas, polycotton etc? i am looking for a tent that will last quite a few years using it about 3 times a year. tracy x

Hi Tracy.. we decided to go for canvas or polycotton because it is cooler in sun and warmer when cooler outside. According to people on here they can last longer as well. Initially I thought that this was not much of an issue and the difference could not be that dramatic .. until I went to a tent display on a really hot, sunny day- the canvas and cotton tents were noticably cooler.   However.. they are heavier and need a little bit more tlc.. also more expensive (I had a bit of a windfall as work had been paying me on wrong scale and I had some back-pay so I blew it all on  a new tent!) ... I still think the Nile would be a good choice though especially with the flexibility of the extension bits.

I liked the Outwell Lakes - especially Wolf Lake and Norfolk Lake which are massive but we have ended up getting a Sunncamp frame tent- looks a bit 'retro' for some perhaps but I think it will be a good size for us. (Sorry for rambling- I blame the wine!)

These are fab tents according to the people who own them, and they have plenty of space for 8 people. There is a good wardrobe storage area and a place you can pop a loo if needed.

I know they are big and probably take up a lot of room, however for comfort and value, these will keep you cool in hot weather and warm in cooler weather, and will last (if kept dry and looked after) for years and years and years!! If you can find space to store it, you wont be dissappointed.

I would love one, but hubby will only ever go camping for a couple of days at a time, so not worth putting up for that long!!

We have a Aztec Falcon 8 which I love, its huge - there is loads of space for 3 boys and 2 adults there is a middle living area  for rainy cold days/evenings and an entrance area for general stuff. The only downsides - the bedrooms are a bit too light, the early morning sun (wishful thinking) can wake you up and I cannot carry the pole bag by myself!! We have camped in it 4 times so far this year and tho some placements we take up all our allotted space we LOVE it!
