I really like the look of the quechua base full, for when I go camping by myself, it will give me extra space & looks easy to up & down. I was wondering if I need to have 2 tents attached to it or can I just have 1 attached, watching the film on the site they always showed 2.

I used mine at the weekend for the first time.Hurrah
If you want, you can have no tents attached to it. All four sides zip up. I think they show it on the video with two attached to demonstrate its family orintated size
I got the woman in the shop to demonstrate, then demonstrate, and then do it again until I was sure I knew where to hold / bend etc.
To be honest I found it easier to put away than I expected but I'm five eight. If you look on the clip, you need to be able to hold both sides where the colour of the tent changes as that is the bit you bend to make the micky mouse ears. (hope that makes sense)

As you have recently used a Quechua base, how did you get on with site fees?
Just wondered, as I would have a full base & 2 tents. Would I get charged for 3 tents, or just 1 as they are all connected? Or does it just depend on the site owner?
Thanks

i havent been charged extra for my base full or base because once together it looks like a small dome tent really. always been charged for the one rather than three or four tents. have only been charged for a gazebo when it was seperate to the tent i was in

A balanced life is a glass of wine in each hand :O)
I stayed at a C&CC site. Booked online based on the size of space the tent would take up with all the bits on. Then I thought I wonder if the tent is the base and I have to pay 'pup tent' rates for the pods so I rang to make sure. The lady on the phone said that was fine as it was interconnected it counts as one.
And I'll second Ice9's comment. The base was much easier than the 3 second air. The worse to get away was the 2second III-XL. I took that out twice and repacked.
It was a pleasant suprise, as last year I used to get charged for 2 tents(main tent & a pup tent), although we had them on the same pitch, touching each other, so obviously together. They were boththe same size Quechua, a 3 second & a 2 second XL.
Out of interest carrots, is your 2 second XL the one with the door on the side as opposed to the end? If it is on the side did it marry up to the base tent OK?
Thanks Smudger

We are looking at the quechua tents and have been looking to see if the base XL will fit the base full or the base standard but cant find anything out. Does anyone know?
