Hi all

Ive had a vango diablo for the last few years, its been an excellent tent been out in all weathers and its never let us down, But its now looking a bit tired and dare i say old fashioned and as everyone knows it can be a bugger to put up, but between two of us we got in down to a tee.

I have been looking and decided the outwell vermont will be my next choice , I have seen the large version but not sure if the medium one will do does anyone know were they can be viewed or have any advice we are two adults and 1 or 2 kids

depending on who wants to come.

Iam in rochdale so mclose as poss if you can

I haven`t seen the smaller Vermont, but we have the Vermont XL and it`s brilliant, we love it. Our son and daughter have a bedroom each, we have plenty of room in the living area and the porch area is superb. We would recommend this tent to anyone.

No idea where you could see on up though. sorry, but I am sure someone will be along soon who will know.

I have the vermont L and really like the tent, it suits us as a family with 2 adults and 3 children and is great for weekend camping or for the week. any of the vermonts are good in my opinion but depends on what size you really want.

what a pity you arent nearer otherwise you could of seen our tent at akebar by wensleydale this weekend.

i dont know of any shops down by you that have tent displays i am afraid

 we have a vermont m, its a great tent its just under a metre narrower then the L, we had 2 adults and 3 children staying in ours last weekend,the other thing is some campsites are a bit fussy about the size of tents, so with it being a bit narrower helps when boooking a pitch,it is nearly the same length, we had a hartford XL before and are realy pleased with this tent.

More thumbs up for the XL here!  We are 2 adults and 2 12 year olds.  We have plenty of room in the tent whatever the weather and room to entertain new friends that we meet on sites.  My advice would be to weigh up how often you're going to use the tent and for how long each time and then go for the best you can afford.

We don't think you can go far wrong with a Vermont, whatever the size.

We had the Vermont L and I think the L or the M would best be suited for you. Since you can't see them in person, lay out your measuring tape for the width of both and then the length and you can compare better this way.

We only opted for the Bear Lake this year as we were given the choice of any tent from the 2008 line. I actually prefer the Vermont style but love the polycotton more.

If you go for the XL, I think it will be too big for you. Children don't need their own room when camping. Camping is getting together and being a family. I have a toddler and a teenager and we always open up the rooms as one and we all love it! If we had extra guests (ie, my husbands parents), we gave them the large room and our children the small room and we just slept on our mats in the main living area and then during the day, our mats were stored in the one room out of the way. We store our bags at each persons head so they are out of the way. Even with 4 adults and 2 children, there was a ton of space for the living area.

You can take down the closet or use it for storage or potty area.

We set up the front enclosed porch as a cooking area. Whe had our cooking stand and all our gear on that with our fridge next to it on the side. And a prep table on the other side. We never had any problems with our children getting hurt and it was always supervised when we were cooking.

The best part of this tent is the versatiltiy of the space. You can open up the living space to the porch making it larger and you have the option of opening up the entire front as an awning. You don't need to buy any kitchen tent, canopy, or side extension as it is a very large tent. All this being said, I would have never even bought the XL as it's just too big and as mentioned above, some sites charge extra for larger tents or charge even by how many it sleeps.

I have the Vermont L and there is just the 2 of us. There is plenty of room and an extra bedroom to store Junk in or in your case a couple of kids! It also has the wardrobe which is a really good for storing more junk as well. I would say we could get another 2 adults in with us without any problems!!

Have opted for the medium, think its the right size for us.
