Hi

We are thinking about getting one of these. Has anyone already got one?

Are they easy to erect? Any info would be greatfully received.

Many thanks

Have looked at the Biscaya 440 and have read on the forums about the problems of the kitchen extension and rubbing of the pole against the tent since it was not sleeved.

Have been in contact with cabanon and they have advised that the 2008 model of the Biscaya 440 now has a sleeved zipped covering for the kitchen extension pole.

I hope that is of some help....

We have the biscaya 500 2008 model its just brill! Went for that rather than the 440 as have 3 boys 12,11&8 all growing so thought we would need the extra space as this tents going to have to last us a long time. The zipped in pole of the kitchen extension is much better and didn't cause us any problems even during a storm with severe winds the whole tent was solid(can't say the same for many of the tents surounding us). They have also changed the zip for the electric cable and its now on the kitchen side. They are easy to put up although the 500 is harder work for a weekend but thats my fault coz i still take the same stuff as i'd take for 2 weeks!!   The zip contecting the top to the ground sheet has also been improved and is so much easier to contect. All the biscaya range is fab just go for it you will not be disappointed.

We have a 2007 440 Avec Cuisine and don't have any problem with the kitchen section. I only know of one case when someone had a problem with the kitchen pole. Though we haven't had any problem with the pole on ours, I believe some models had bulky buckles to secure it in place, which I think were the cause of the fault.

Just come back from another week in our 440 when the weather tried its hardest to spoil our holiday, but our trusty Cabanon Biscaya did us proud once again. Not a sign of a leak anywhere and as solid as a rock even with the extra sun canopy up.

They get lots of compliments too - even from tin toppers!!!

Go and see one on display - you'll not be dissapointed!

Jo + Dick,

Does your 500 have a cusine section like the 440? I thought only the 440 was "avec Cuisine" unless they've changed for 2008?

We find the 440 is a BIG tent - the 500 is ENORMOUS in fact I don't think I could manage to pitch one with just me and the wife!

Hi Chaz, yes the 2008 500 does have the kitchen section which does make it enormous but we need the space with three growing lads and a dog! Seems like cabanon have made quite a few improvements this year.

Hi
If I had the money the Cabanon Biscaya would definitely be the way I would go. For me it would be the 370 Cotton but I am from the old school and still prefer cotton, .
But the best designed Biscaya is the Vis-A-Vis and there is one been sold by a tent dealer brand new an never been out of the box,I asked the dealer last time it came up for auction. Starting bid £850 it did not get a bid first time round so I don't know if it as a reserve but if you could buy this tent for £850 that would be a saving of around £400+
The EBay lot no is 140243004009 if you want to have a look
Regards
Rex
