Looking to buy a cheap, easy to pitch weekend tent so I can take the boys (aged 6 and 2) away for a couple of nights during the school holidays.

Narrowed the choice down to 2 tents:
* Sunncamp Ventura
or
* Gelert Cirrus 6

Does anyone have any experience of either of these tents?
Are they easy to pitch alone (or with minimum help from a 6 year old)?

I was originally drawn to the Ventura but the Gelert is slightly larger and has more living space. Plus it's cheaper but it doesn't have a SIG.
HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please can someone help me make up my mind.
Which one would you buy??

Any comments, advice or info would be much appreciated.
Helen xx

Hi Helen,

Can I throw a spanner in the works and suggest a couple of tents worth taking a look at?

On the basis that there are 3 of you and you would like something easy to pitch (preferably with a sig) then what about the Sunncamp evolution 400? Looky here

They also have a 600 which is bigger if you want more space.

Or maybe a vango Orchy 400?  Or 500 ? There is a 600 too if you want a little bigger.

According to threads on this site, the evolution is very easy to pitch solo. I think the Orchy can be done solo too.

Have a look then you can shout at me for confusing you lol

Angie.

Many thanks for the reply and the suggestions Angie.
Both your suggestions are nice tents at a good price but I had already crossed them off the list as they're too narrow - I need internal width of at least 300cm to accommodate the airbeds we already have.
Plus I really want 2 seperate bedroom pods rather than one large one with a dividing curtain in case hubby gets a chance to join us (bit more privacy for us)

I have spent months looking at tents and reading threads on here for recommendations.
Based on our needs and budget, I'm sticking to my final list and it is definately going to be either the Sunncamp Ventura or the Gelert Cirrus 6.

Don't have any experience of thes tents but i have recently bought a Vango oregon 600 which is a tunnel tent very similar to the two you are looking at. the vango has with a dividing 4 berth compartment + another 2 berth compartment. It is easy to put up and is very spacious. I use to have a suncamp vario 5 which was a good tent but unfortunately it got damaged when up in the garden.

Have a look at this http://www.leisureshack.co.uk/osb/itemdetails.cfm/ID/Gelert-Cirrus-6-Berth-Tent_17929/Cat/1290 . Don't know if this is a good price but it seems to be half price.
